Ingredients:

  • Your favorite salad greens (ex. a head of lettuce, a bunch of baby kale, a bag of salad mix), chopped, if needed
  • 3 cheese sticks, grated or chopped
  • 3 ½ cups of your favorite vegetables, chopped (our favorite combination: 1 cup tomato, 1 cup carrots, 1 cup bell pepper, ½ cup scallions)
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, torn or chopped (optional)
  • 12 – 15 oz of your favorite protein (ex. Canned chicken, turkey, ham, canned beans) (optional)
  • Your favorite salad dressing or balsamic dressing* (see recipe), to taste

Directions:

  1. Wash hands with soap and warm water. Wash produce well. 
  2. In a medium bowl, combine salad greens with prepared cheese sticks, vegetables, and basil, if using. 
  3. Toss with your favorite salad dressing or the balsamic dressing featured above.

If using canned protein, drain and rinse before adding to the dish.

*Contains honey. Honey should not be fed to infants less than one year of age
