Pizza Salad
Ingredients:
- Your favorite salad greens (ex. a head of lettuce, a bunch of baby kale, a bag of salad mix), chopped, if needed
- 3 cheese sticks, grated or chopped
- 3 ½ cups of your favorite vegetables, chopped (our favorite combination: 1 cup tomato, 1 cup carrots, 1 cup bell pepper, ½ cup scallions)
- ¼ cup fresh basil, torn or chopped (optional)
- 12 – 15 oz of your favorite protein (ex. Canned chicken, turkey, ham, canned beans) (optional)
- Your favorite salad dressing or balsamic dressing* (see recipe), to taste
Directions:
- Wash hands with soap and warm water. Wash produce well.
- In a medium bowl, combine salad greens with prepared cheese sticks, vegetables, and basil, if using.
- Toss with your favorite salad dressing or the balsamic dressing featured above.
If using canned protein, drain and rinse before adding to the dish.
*Contains honey. Honey should not be fed to infants less than one year of age
